Repowering the south west

Repowering the south west with a mix of secure, reliable, decentralised renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, wave, and geothermal will bring wealth and stability to the region. Mallee based bioenergy will also rejuvenate the wheatbelt.

Paul took action to:

  • Guarantee profitable feed in tariffs for all clean green power sources
  • Use carbon trading and mandated renewable energy targets to drive investment in renewable energy and energy efficiencies
  • Create an agency to get the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries moving
  • Make the south west region a net exporter of wind, solar and wave energy by 2020 so that our regional towns, farms and communities are the State’s renewable energy powerhouse
  • Enable rapid grid connection of renewable energy generation
  • Rebuild and strengthen the electricity grid to pump energy from the regions to the cities
  • Make Bunbury Australia’s solar energy hub by developing the Kemerton Silicon Smelter to produce photovoltaic-grade silicon for making solar panels
  • Stop any new conventional coal fired power stations being built.

See who else is talking about repowering our world...
