Native forest and woodland conservation

Paul took action to:

  • End the destructive logging, mining and burning practices in native forests and woodlands
  • Shift the forest products industry to agro-forestry and plantations on cleared agricultural land
  • Establish and implement community-based farm forestry programs
  • Restore the full potential of our remaining native forest ecosystems to provide clean air, water, carbon sinks and natural heritage values
  • Protect the remaining native forests in conservation reserves to maintain and protect biodiversity, water catchments flora and fauna
  • Seek World Heritage listing for south west native forests, woodlands and ecosystems.
