Wind turbineElectricity Industry (Western Australian Renewable Energy Targets) Bill 2005

This Bill would require electricity suppliers to meet mandatory renewable energy targets, rising to 20 per cent by 2020.  It was passed by the Upper House in 2006. The Government refused to support the Bill in the Lower House but were prompted to promise their own targets. The Bill also supported the successful campaign for a '20 per cent by 2020' Commonwealth renewable energy target.
